4) Returning once again to your previous document, right-click on the text layer and select rasterize type. This will rasterize the text, enabling us to use the outline as a stencil for our text effect. Keeping the CTRL key pressed, click the thumbnail of this particular layer on the layer palette. This will select the outline of all the contents of the layer, which currently consist of the rasterized text. Hit delete to remove the text. You will now be left with the marquee outline as shown below. 5) Keeping the marquee active, select the Fill Tool and set the fill type to Pattern. From the list of patterns, select the preset we created earlier. 6) With the fill tool selected, click inside the marquee to apply your pattern. Still keeping the marquee active, go to Edit > Stroke.
