Step 8

Now you will see that the background, heart and text are on different layers. This isn’t much good for us as we want to copy everything onto our scene. What we need to do is merge all three layers into one. To do this, hit CRTL+E to merge the layers. You will need to do this twice. Another problem we have now is that the card is too clean and will look very fake in the scene. We need to add some noise to beak up the color. To do this, go FILTER->Noise->Add noise. All we need do now is CRTL+A to select everything, and CRTL+C to copy.

Step 9

Now for the fun and games. Create a new layer and go back to your scene image, and go FILTER->Vanishing point. This is an amazingly powerful tool. What we are basically going to do is change the perspective of our card to match the blank A4 paper in the scene. On the left are the tools. The second from the top is the plane tool. Click it or hit ‘C’ on the keyboard. Now carefully click on the four corners of the first card like in the image below. If your plane turns yellow or red, you will need to tweak the corner points a little.

Step 10

Now once you’re happy with that, CRTL+V to paste our card. It is probably enormous and looks horrible . No fear, hit ‘T’ to enter transform mode. Now we can rotate, move and scale our card into its correct position:

Step 11

After clicking OK photoshop will take us back with our card nicely incorporated into our scene with the correct perspective. To make it look even more real, change the blend mode to ‘Multiply’ and lower the Opacity to 78% or thereabouts.
