First, let me go ahead and show you what we will have at the end (click on the image to view it full size): In this tutorials you will be going through different stages, and create an ad, the techniques used in this tutorial can also be used in a lot of different ways. Open a new Canvas. File > New. In the dialogue box that appears, Set the width and height to 700 by 550 pixels respectively. Since I am a car lover, I will be using an image of a Hummer H2, it’s a cool machine. To drag and drop, simply use the Move Tool (shortcut v) In this case, the image is larger than my canvas size so I will scale down the image. Next, hold down Shift key (to constraint the proportions) and drag down the handles as shown in the screen shot below. Place the hummer image as shown in the image, don’t worry about the white borders, we will fix that any way.
You will learn :
-How to use the pen tool.
-Create a clip mask
Leave all other settings as they are.
Open the image by going to the menu at the top of Photoshop File > Open and choose the location of the image.
Do note here that when you open an external image in Photoshop, the original picture opens, either you duplicate it, by going to the Image menu or drag drop as we will do next.
, and click on the picture and drag it to the canvas that is behind(the one we created earlier 700 x550 pixels), on which we will be working.
Click on the image and start to drag it towards the working canvas. See the screen shot below.
To scale down, press CTRL + T (Edit > Preferences > Free Transform).
Once the size is reasonably down, press ENTER so that the scale transformation is applied.
You might need to move the image into place, or work with the transform tool a little to get the right size and placement.
