In this tutorial we’re gonna create a website template using photoshop. I’m not gonna cover how to write the html for the design, I will only go on and create the design of the template using photoshop.

1) Open a new document. For width specify 770, and for height specify 400.

2) Create a new layer. press the Rectangular Marquee Tool from the toolbox, and make a rectangle as in the following picture. Fill The rectangle with black using the Paint Bucket Tool.

3) Click Layer -> Layer Style -> Drop Shadow , from the menu.

4) put the settings as in the next image.

5) Create a new blank layer.

6) Now select the two layers and press Ctrl + E to merge the two layers together.

7) Duplicate the resultant layer now (Ctrl + J ).

8) From the menu above, choose Edit -> Transform -> Rotate 180 degree.

9) Move the other layer to the other side of the image. You will end up with the following Image.

10) Create a new layer. Again, with the Rectangular Marquee Tool, make a simple menu for your site. Fill it with the color: #e1c5ef
