Text effects using patterns

Friday ~ March 03, 2007 by Pixelseed Posted in All free Photoshop tutorials

This tutorial will guide you in creating a simple text effect using the pattern presets in Photoshop. You will discover how to create your own pattern and apply it to a specific font’s outline.

1) Start off by creating a new Photoshop document with a width of 1000 and a height of 240 pixels.

Using a very bold font, type in your text and resize it to fit the window. In this case, the font size is around 40 pt, but your mileage will of course vary depending on the font you are using.
